Leeann is one of the key member of the Midnight Magic Studios team. Not only is she Don’s wife of 20 years but she is also the Media Consultant, Technical Finishing Editor and Photographer. As the Media Consultant for Midnight Magic Studios she is responsible for the look and feel of all aspects of Midnight Magic Studios. Everything from the web site to our Facebook page to any of our print advertising has gone through Leeann first. Her main focus as Media Consultant is to make sure that Midnight Magic Studios has the professional look and feel it should, but to also make sure our message gets out correctly
Leeann is also the Technical Finishing Editor. Leeann has no background in video other than what she has learned from Don and that’s what makes her such an asset to the team. At the end of an event, Don will tell Leeann a little about the wedding, but not everything and there is a reason for this. Leeann’s job is to watch the finished film and look for several things. One is any technical issues such as bad audio, video drop out, bad transitions and other general errors. This ensures that the film you get is free of technical errors as much as possible. The other part of her position, and possibly the most important, as Technical Finishing Editor is to watch the film. She is looking for several things; does the film tell the story of the day? Is there emotion and feeling in the film? Does it flow well? She does this by putting herself in the position of the bride and thinks, “Would I like this if I were the bride?”. But, there are two things Don, as the editor, also looks for from Leeann. A tear and goosebumps. This is why Don won’t tell her much about the bride, It’s as simple as this, if she gets a tear and goosebumps from a film of people she doesn’t know, then the bride should have the same reaction and that is when we know the film is perfect.
Leeann is, most of all, our lead photographer. Her eye for detail and drive for perfection is what makes her perfect as out lead photographer. Leeann stared out just taking pictures of the family and of special events of friends and family. This is when Leeann learned that she had a gift for being able to see the small details and the emotion in everyday things. Leeann went through the UT Photography Certification program and started shooting kids, animals and families. Her specialty is outdoor candid photography. She has done horse shows for a number of years and has recently taken a workshop with the world renowned Boudoir Divas out in San Diego, CA.
